Governors report on SEND at Rickmansworth Park School
Pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can apply to the school for admission through the usual Hertfordshire County Council process. We would recommend parents visit the school to meet with SEND staff prior to application.
The school has policies for SEND and equal opportunities as well as a disability equality scheme which includes the accessibility plan. These ensure pupils with SEND are not treated less favourably than other pupils. Details of the school’s ‘Local Offer’ can also be found on the website.
The learning environment is adapted for pupils with physical needs as far as possible (see accessibility plan) and advice is sought from specialist where necessary to support this. Facilities the school has at present are two toilets adapted for disabled use and wide doors in some parts of the building.
